REFLEXOLOGY
What is Reflexology
Reflexology is a powerful form of alternative or complimentary
medicine, that involves massage treatment to reflex areas located in
both the feet and hands. Most commonly treatment is to the feet.
All Parts of the body can be treated by massaging the
corresponding reflex areas found in the feet. For example, the right
foot corresponds to the right side of the body and the left foot to
the left side. By having the whole body represented in the feet, reflexology
treats the body as a whole.
Treatment
All areas on both feet will be massaged and reflex
point stimulated. Those points corresponding to parts of the body that
are out of balance many feel uncomfortable or tender. Sensitivity of
the feet varies from person to person.
The treatment session will last approximately three
quaters of an hour. At the end of a session the feet should feel warm
and the patient relaxed. The number of treatment sessions required will
vary depending on the condition being treated.
Following Treatment
One of reflexology's great contributions to the general
well-being is that it improves the circulation, stimulated the lymphatic
system and helps to cleanse the body of toxins. Drining water following
treatment aids the body's cleansing process.
What can Reflexology do?
Reflexology does not claim to 'cure all' but numerous
different disorders have been successfully treated such as:
- Headaches / Migraine
- Sinus Problems
- Back Problems
